Local Information

There is an Indian restaurant just 200 feet from Casa Vinuela. The village of Los Romanes is the closest and has a local bar and a good Spanish restaurant all within a 3 minute drive. A small supermarket caters for every day provisions.

Puente de Don Manuel is slightly larger and is 5 minutes away. A couple of supermarkets and a selection of bars and restaurants are to be found there.

Located on the lake shore are two restaurants, again only 3 minutes by car (one a rustic grill and the other for more formal dining).

The white villages of Alcaucin, Periana, Comares and Frigliania to name a few are all within a reasonable drive away and make for a pleasant afternoon/evening drive.

Torre del Mar has a long sandy beach, an Aqua Park, a large modern indoor shopping centre as well as a multi-screen cinema. The town caters for many local Spanish holiday-makers and this is part of its charm. The choice of restaurants is diverse ranging from Spanish, Fish, Steak, Italian, Chinese and even an Indian!

Activities

All non-motorised water sports are allowed on Lake Vinuela. Boats and bikes can be hired locally. There is a track around the lake for walking or cycling and man-made beaches and picnic areas are provided. Excellent hill walking in this area of Andalucia, along with horse riding. For golfers there are two courses located just 15 minutes and 20 minutes away. In Winter the ski resort of Sierra Nevada lies under 2 hours away.
